Job Overview

We are currently seeking multiple talented Software Engineers to join our diverse teams in Linthicum Heights, MD, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid/remote schedule. Please note that the position location may be subject to change based on the needs of our central MD clients. As a Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, collaborating with various teams to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements.
  • Work individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
  • Resolve software problem reports and utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies.
  • Provide specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.

Teams and Primary Skills

We are hiring for several teams, each with its unique focus and required skills:

  • API Team: Our REST team provides middleware and backend support to all applications, with primary skills in Python, Django, or Flask, and secondary skills in MongoDB or MariaDB.
  • DevOps Team: Focused on delivering automation that enables smooth operations, with primary skills in Ansible Pipeline, GitLab Pipeline, Linux, and NiFi, and secondary skills in AWS, C2S, or other cloud experiences, Python scripting, and cloud hosting and automation.
  • Customer Support Team: Primarily focuses on requirements gathering, tier 1 support, technical writing, help documentation, and internal testing, with primary skills in technical writing and Confluence, and secondary skills in system engineering/requirements gathering and JIRA.
  • UI Team: Focuses on creating single-page application websites and providing mockups for new ideas, with primary skills in TypeScript, Angular, and SCSS, and secondary skills in Balsamiq and MongoDB.
  • Data Management Team: Delivers reliable, accurate data to end users, with primary skills in PIG and Py-Spark, and secondary skills in NiFi and PressureWave.
  • Data Pipeline Team: Ensures successful day-to-day operations and data transfer, with primary skills in NiFi and PressureWave, and secondary skills in patch management, IAVA tracking, and Bash scripting.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • TS/SCI with a polygraph clearance.
