The Community Pastor (CP) of Connections Community Church is responsible for leading the ministries that help people in our church and community connect with each other and connect more with God as a result of those relationships and ministries. He or she will lead and oversee the following ministries: • First Impressions • Small Groups • Next Steps • Community Outreach The CP is also a member of our Staff Leadership Team. Other opportunities to lead and serve may also be available based on his or her gifts and passions. Qualifications: The Community Pastor must be a mature follower of Christ who meets the criteria for senior level leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 and hold to the doctrinal statement, mission, and values of Connections without reservation. In addition the CP must have or be the following: • A great relational fit with the rest of our staff and culture. • A relational leader who can make strong connections with people in our church and our community. • A good communicator and teacher. • Capable of leading leaders. • An ability to lead many different ministries and teams simultaneously. • The ability to recruit and inspire people (aka "Galvanizing" in the Working Genius). • Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of those plans for the church as a whole. • Entrepreneurial enough to continually improve and execute on your own, while having a strong desire to collaborate. • A High School Diploma. Bachelors Degree Preferred. Reporting Relationships: The Community Pastor reports directly to the Lead Pastor, but is given the freedom to develop the ministries he/she oversees and leads. The CP does not report to any other board, committee, or individual. Volunteers in the CP's ministries/teams ultimately report to the CP, but there are volunteer leaders that are in place to help lead some of those ministries and volunteers. The Staff Leadership Team leads the day-to-day operations of the church as a whole and work together to create the vision and initiatives for the church. They gets together regularly to discuss the larger initiatives that affect the church as a whole so decisions can be made collaboratively and collectively. The Lead Pastor will make the final call when necessary for matters that impact the church as a whole. We have an Elder Board that can only step in if they deem the Lead Pastor to be disqualified from ministry. Goals and Expectations: • Improve upon our ability to help individuals connect more with God, other people and their God-given purposes in life. • Develop and create processes and leadership structures in ministries, so volunteer leaders can help disciple, train, and care for other volunteers more effectively. • Increase our presence and impact in the community for Jesus.
