The Department of ePMO-Performance Excellence is currently seeking a full-time Data Visualization Specialist to work hybrid in Miami. The Data Visualization Specialist transforms complex data into clear, compelling visual narratives that support strategic decision-making across clinical, operational, and financial domains. This role designs and delivers high-impact PowerPoint presentations and dashboards that communicate insights to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Translates raw data into actionable insights using visual storytelling techniques. 2. Develops and maintains presentation materials (primarily in PowerPoint) that aligns with organizational goals and branding. 3. Collaborates with business leaders to understand data needs and tailors visual outputs accordingly. 4. Creates dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel. 5. Ensures accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all visual materials. 6. Supports executive communications with data-driven visuals for board meetings, strategic reviews, and operational updates. 7. Stays current with visualization best practices. 8. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required Bachelor's degree in data visualization, business analytics, communications, or related field; or equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced visualization and presentation design skills preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required Demonstrated experience creating presentations for C-suite executives or Board-level audiences, preferred. Experience with higher education operations, strategic planning, or institutional reporting preferred Proficiency with PowerPoint, Tableau/Power BI, and advanced Excel skills, preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders. Executive Communication: Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise visual narratives appropriate for senior leadership and Board audiences Strategic Thinking: Understanding of higher education operations, strategic planning, and institutional priorities to contextualize data appropriately Design and Visual Literacy: Strong design sensibility, understanding of data visualization principles, color theory, and accessibility standards Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality in all visual materials presented to institutional leadership Adaptability: Flexibility to work with rapidly changing priorities, emerging data needs, and evolving strategic initiatives Stakeholder Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with business leaders across multiple departments and organizational levels Department Specific Functions Develops executive-ready PowerPoint presentations for Board of Trustees, committee, and C-suite meetings that clearly communicate key institutional metrics and strategic priorities. Designs and updates dashboards and visual reports to track clinical, operational, academic, and financial KPIs for leadership decision-making. Collaborates with senior leaders and subject-matter experts to understand data needs and translate them into clear, concise visual stories. Maintains standardized templates, style guides, and visual assets to ensure brand-aligned, accessible, and consistent executive presentations. Synthesizes complex data sets into summary visuals and talking points tailored for Board and executive audiences under tight deadlines. Ensures data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional data governance in all executive-facing materials.
