Cloud Data Architect (Contract-to-Hire | Remote ET/CT) Duration: 6-month CTH Location: Fully remote (ET or CT time zones preferred) A high-growth company is launching a greenfield SAP S/4HANA RISE implementation and building a modern enterprise analytics platform from the ground up. They’re looking for a Cloud Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of a scalable data warehouse/lakehouse that will power reporting and decision-making across the business. What you’ll do • Architect and deliver a cloud data warehouse + lakehouse to ingest large-scale transactional and operational data • Define integration and ingestion strategies and oversee pipeline design and execution • Build a reference architecture leveraging Databricks + Delta Lake (Snowflake also in the mix) • Design data and semantic models to unify reporting across Tableau, Power BI, and SAP Analytics Cloud • Drive performance optimization (query tuning, modeling decisions, platform reliability) • Partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to align data products to real outcomes What we’re looking for • 7+ years in data engineering / cloud data architecture with experience standing up data warehouses (not just supporting existing ones) • Strong SQL and strong data modeling fundamentals • SAP S/4HANA experience is a major plus and a key hiring factor • Cloud experience: Azure preferred, but AWS or Google Cloud Platform is fine • Platform experience: Databricks and/or Snowflake preferred (similar tools also acceptable) Why this is interesting You’ll help define the foundation of a modern data platform during a major transformation—greenfield build, real scale, and direct business impact.
