Complex Litigation Attorney – Special Investigations Unit
Job Description:
• Collaborate with the Claims/Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to combat fraudulent claims.
• Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud cases including RICO.
• Develop litigation strategies on complex legal matters.
• Review case files and plan resolutions.
• Draft discovery requests, motions, memorandums, and legal briefs.
• Prepare for and conduct Depositions and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
• Work with expert witness in litigation defense preparation.
• Represent the company in court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements and prepare related documentation.
Requirements:
• Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
• Federal Court Admission or the ability to seek admission upon selection.
• 7 + years of complex litigation experience.
• Experience litigating medical and other types of fraud ideal.
• Ability to manage complex litigation.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
• Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality.
• Insurance industry experience ideal.
• Knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes.
