Description:
• *Principal OpenShift Architect with deep expertise in OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt), advanced OVN-Kubernetes networking, UDN-based tenant isolation, BGP via FRR-K8s, and high-performance CNI tuning for nested OpenShift environments.
Layer 3 Segmentation via OVN-Kubernetes: Implementing User Defined Networks (UDN) to support overlapping RFC1918 IP space across multiple sites while maintaining cryptographic or logical isolation.
BGP Dynamic Routing via FRR-K8s: Configuring the FRR-K8s Operator to dynamically advertise UDN-specific routes to the physical Leaf/Spine fabric, specifically handling multi-hop BGP or complex prefix-filtering.
Hardware Offloading: Tuning the CNI for high-performance edge workloads (e.g., SR-IOV or DPDK integration within a UDN).
Nested OCP Environments (OCP on VMaaS)
Recursive Virtualization Performance: Optimizing the KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization layer to host "Guest" OpenShift clusters with minimal latency overhead.
Networking for Nested Clusters: Solving the "Double Overlay" problem ensuring that the networking in the nested cluster can communicate efficiently with the physical network without triple-encapsulation penalties.
Storage Pass-through: Configuring Dell PowerFlex CSI to provide persistent volumes through the virtualization layer to the nested K8s nodes while maintaining snapshot capabilities.
We specifically need a resource who has experience in OpenShift Virtualization along with the above skills to provide technical oversight and validation of these specific LLD components.
