Software Engineer, L5 – Ads Media Planning
Job Description:
• Build applications and APIs that support every stage of the media planning process, from initial plan creation and inventory allocation through to campaign activation and completion
• Translate advertiser objectives into actionable media plans, ensuring seamless integration, automation, optimization, compliance, and management of media strategies at scale
• Deliver transparency on media plan performance and provide users with actionable insights to optimize their planning strategies
• Partner with stakeholders across the Ads Platform (Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Design) to develop scalable, impactful media planning solutions
• Develop highly performant advertising systems and integrations that leverage Netflix’s content delivery ecosystem
• Ensure advertiser brand safety and that members see appropriate ads
• Collaborate cross-functionally to monetize content, support pre-sales workflows, and drive business value
Requirements:
• Experience in building first party tools, APIs and services that leverage data and real-time insights to support media planning workflows
• Understanding of how media planning workflow works with other parts of an ads platform like pre-sales to delivery
• Familiarity with RFPs and pre-sales processes through to campaign activation
• Familiarity with AHC (agency holding cos) planning tools and integrations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Experience building modern backend and frontend applications on cloud/AWS using Java, Spring Boot, React, GraphQL, Node.js or equivalent technologies
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices, NoSQL databases, queues like Apache Kafka
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Nice to have: contributed to ads industry standards (e.g., VAST, OpenRTB) or worked on industry consortiums
• Nice to have: familiarity with legal compliance and changing ads regulations globally
• Nice to have: experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its constraints
• Nice to have: working knowledge of AI/ML/genAI and ability to apply to sales processes such as channel, product, targeting, budget recommendations
