Senior Consultant – Part Time Flex
Job Description:
• Serve in a technical advisory role on various projects related to aquatic ecology and fishery biology impacts associated with power generation cooling system intakes and discharges
• Provide in-depth review of study plan designs and data management plans to be followed by project team members and subcontractors, which include collection methodology, categorization, organization, and handling of aquatic resource data
• Assist and provide guidance to Senior Project Managers on complex field studies and desktop projects evaluating water withdrawal and discharge impacts on the aquatic environment
• Attend client, agency, and stakeholder meetings and/or calls to provide expert technical advice, feedback, and guidance on projects related to Clean Water Act Section 316(a) and 316(b) regulations
• Review and contribute to complex technical reports, presentations, and other project deliverables prepared by the project team.
Requirements:
• Doctorate degree in Ecology, Wildlife and Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Aquatic Biology, or similar
• 30+ years of experience in consulting on cooling water system regulatory issues and aquatic impacts for utility companies and agencies
• Experience in advising and authoring Clean Water Act Section 316(a) Thermal Demonstration Studies and providing guidance on thermal discharge issues
• Technical reporting, developing peer reviewed publications, giving expert presentations, and experience in agency consultation pertaining to permitting and environmental compliance for power generation industry is a plus.
