Technical Business Analyst / Systems Consultant (Remote)
About Us
We are a small consulting firm (18 consultants) specializing in pension administration systems for public-sector retirement organizations, including city, county, and state systems. Our systems are highly customized, complex, and mission-critical.
Position Overview
This role combines technical configuration work with business analysis. You will work with internal team members and clients to understand requirements and configure our pension administration platform to meet client-specific needs. While the role is technical, it is not a traditional programming or IT position.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze business and system requirements from clients and internal teams
• Configure and customize the pension administration platform based on client rules and policies
• Translate complex pension and business rules into system configurations
• Analyze client data and load it into our system
• Test and validate system configurations for accuracy and completeness
• Troubleshoot issues and support system enhancements
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding requirements and solutions

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or analytical field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Technical aptitude and comfort working with structured data
• Experience or familiarity with XML, JavaScript, relational databases, and/or Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or implementation consulting
• Exposure to pension, benefits, HRIS, payroll, or other regulated systems
• Experience working with highly customized enterprise software
• Client-facing or consulting experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
