Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Medication Use
About Pharmacy Medication This role is responsible for professional support of medication use and drug information activities across Corewell Health, collaborating with pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel to achieve clinical and corporate objectives. Key responsibilities include supporting system drug shortage and formulary management, facilitating Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee initiatives, policy management, quality and safety project coordination, financial stewardship, and educational programs. This position incorporates a clinical staffing component as well as resident/student precepting, to foster the connection to patient care and advancing the profession. Scope of Work The Medication Use Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is responsible for providing professional support for medication use and drug information activities across Corewell Health. This hybrid position will be part of the system Medication Use and Medication Safety team. The specialist will support system formulary management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities, system policy management, system quality and safety project coordination, system financial stewardship activities, and system educational programs. This will be accomplished through collaboration, coordination and communication with the pharmacy leaders, system quality, safety and clinical leaders, pharmacists, medical staff, information technologists and other healthcare workers. The goals of the system team are to optimize patient care through evidence-based formulary management, aligned system pharmacy policies and protocols, coordinated safety and quality activities, and continual learning. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree Pharm.D. or Bachelor degree in pharmacy. Preferred residency training. 3 years of relevant experience 3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy residency/fellowship preferred. In absence of residency training, candidates with demonstrated superior knowledge (board certification, considerable practical clinical experience, etc.) in area of focus may be considered.
