Role Description
Oil spill response and vessel compliance specialist. Work with team members and clients to support client vessels’ day to day operations in U.S. waters and world-wide trade, performing regulatory required filings and liaising with vessel Captains and client points of contact as well as a myriad of Federal, State and local officials to support vessel operations, incident response and compliance with the regulations.
• Responsible for day-to-day administrative duties and supporting operations for regulatory compliance for commercial client vessel fleet(s)
• Processing electronic Notice of Arrival/Departure and Cargo Manifest filing (ACE/AMS)
• Respond to oil pollution and vessel casualties on behalf of client as required
• Participation in after hour’s duty rotation
This can be a remote position but candidates must reside in California.
Qualifications
• Previous Maritime Industry / USCG experience, minimum 5 years’ experience, is preferred; Marine Science Technician with Response experience is highly preferred
• Candidates with undergraduate or advanced degree will be attractive
• Training or certifications relevant to the maritime sector will be a bonus
• Functional knowledge of industry standards and best practices
• Functional knowledge of various regulatory regime frameworks and models, such as CWA, OPA’90, USCG, EPA VGP, OSHA, Ballast Compliance, ACE/AMS, eNOA, ECA, MARPOL, Annex I-VI, AK, CA, WA State requirements, IMO
Requirements
• Base compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000
• Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity
• Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership
