Senior Marketing Strategist & Client Success Lead (Fractional with Full-Time Opportunity)

We’re looking for a senior-level marketing strategist to step into a fractional leadership role and help run the agency day-to-day while owning client strategy and outcomes. This is not a junior role. This is not a purely advisory role. And this is not a hands-off leadership position. We’re in a growth phase, and we’re looking for someone who can think strategically, lead confidently, and still roll up their sleeves when needed. You will be charged with making strategic decisions for client accounts, owning outcomes, and helping build the systems, team, and structure required to scale. About the Role You’ll serve as the senior strategist and strategic owner of client accounts, overseeing marketing direction across social media, SEO, email marketing, and website projects. You’ll act as the internal strategy lead for the team and the strategic point of contact for select client accounts. You’ll make decisions, guide the team, lead high-level initiatives, and personally manage a small portfolio of clients (the clients you manage you will be the primary point of contact, but will have a team who does the implementation. This part of the role will is intended to be short term. This role is designed to gradually take ownership of agency delivery and client strategy, allowing the founder to step out of day-to-day decision-making and focus on long-term growth. You’ll have real authority, real responsibility, and real impact. A Note on This Role Bellrae is in a high-growth season. While this is a senior strategy role, we’re also in a building phase. That means the right person isn’t above jumping in when needed. You will: • Own strategy across all client accounts • Lead high-level initiatives • AND personally manage a small number of client accounts for a short term • Run monthly client meetings • Build and present client reports • Serve as primary point of contact for select clients • Help bridge the gap as we grow our team If you’re looking for a purely advisory or hands-off leadership role, this won’t be the right fit. Core Responsibilities Strategic Account Leadership • Serve as the senior strategist and strategic owner across client accounts • Personally manage a small portfolio of clients as primary point of contact • Lead monthly client meetings and ongoing strategy conversations • Build and present client performance reports • Conduct strategy audits and recommend pivots or improvements • Own client outcomes, performance, and overall marketing direction • Attend client kickoff meetings and select discovery calls • Participate in high-strategy client projects such as brand launches and marketing plans • Provide final review of client reports with insights and recommendations Content, Social & Editorial Oversight • Review social media content weekly during the first 90 days of new client onboarding • Review blogs, press releases, SEO pages, and email newsletters for strategic alignment and best practices • Review quarterly social media audits with Social Media Strategist • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager to build SEO-driven editorial calendars • Perform keyword research to validate topics and search intent • Approve editorial calendars and major content initiatives SEO Strategy Ownership • Oversee SEO project success for assigned accounts • Review SEO content prior to publishing • Guide writers and team members on structure, keyword usage, and long-term content strategy Website Strategy & Project Leadership • Lead website redesign projects from a strategic perspective • Own site structure, messaging, and SEO direction • Review wireframes, copy, and site architecture • Guide designers, developers, and internal teams through launch Internal Strategy & Process Development • Act as the internal escalation point for strategy-related questions • Help develop onboarding questionnaires and strategy frameworks for new clients • Create and refine fulfillment processes for efficiency and scale • Identify workflow gaps and recommend improvements • Coach team members at a strategic level What This Role Is Not To ensure clarity: • Not purely advisory • Not execution-heavy, but you will step in when needed • Not HR or internal operations management • Not day-to-day task tracking • Not a passive leadership role This is a player-coach role in a growing agency. Ideal Candidate • 5–10+ years of marketing experience (agency experience strongly preferred) • Deep understanding of SEO, content strategy, and digital marketing • Comfortable leading website strategy and redesigns • Confident decision-maker with ownership mindset • High standards for quality and results • Experience managing client relationships and running meetings • Organized, systems-oriented, proactive • Thrives in a fractional, high-trust environment • Excited to help build and grow an agency Growth Opportunity This starts as a fractional leadership role with opportunity to grow into full-time as Bellrae continues to scale. We’re looking for someone who wants to build something meaningful, take ownership, and grow alongside the business.
