Job Summary
Medical Records Technicians (MRTs) are responsible for the retrieval, review, indexing, and secure handling of medical records across various provider facilities and specialty groups.
In this fully remote role
, MRTs support the medical records retrieval process by ensuring documentation is accurately processed, securely uploaded, and compliant with quality and HIPAA standards
. MRTs must maintain the integrity of patient files and ensure all retrieved documentation meets established organizational quality requirements.

• Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
• Must have a clean background check
• Must be a US resident and citizen (already stated above)
Key Responsibilities
• Execute a minimum of 60 daily outbound/inbound phone calls with the goal of scheduling records for retrieval
• Retrieve medical record images from provider facilities efficiently and professionally
• Manage documentation requests and scheduling of document exchange
• Follow-up on outstanding document requests that are past due
• Document all communications in system
• Types and transmits correspondence as necessary
• Process records and documentation according to Company standards
• Provide EOD update and report to supervisor after completing an onsite retrieval appointment
• Minimize interruption to provider office while observing HIPAA standards and regulations
Required Knowledge & Qualifications
• Able to navigate Windows-based screening system effectively
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Understand customer service processing requirements
• Place and receive calls via computer interface
• Track/monitor/retrieve information on calls
• Understands the management of call queues and has some experience in it
• Familiar with components of standard Medical Records
• 2+ years of experience working in a professional office environment
• Relevant call center experience; healthcare industry is a strong plus
• Prior experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet productivity expectations
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using electronic record systems
• Reliable internet connection and secure workspace
Employment Details
• Start Date: March 2, 2026
• Training
Schedule:
10am ET to 5pm ET for the first 3-4 days, then 9-5:30 ET thereafter
• Schedules: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Central Time
• Pay Rate: $18 per hour
• Contract: This is a 3-4 month contract to start. The client may convert to permanent employee based on performance and program need; not guaranteed.
