IISD Swimming Instructor (25-26 SY) - Part Time

$17/hr- noncertified $25/hr- certified TEA educator Applicants, please list all aquatics experience and certifications in your resume or intent letter. Job Responsibilities: • Instruct all swim lesson participants in the Swim Safe program. • Maintain a high level of safety in his/her own class. • Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time; remaining after class to answer participant or teacher questions, and/or to clean up supplies. • Instruct and evaluate students participating in the Swim Safe program. • Submit completed progress reports, skill sheets and attendance information on time. • Attend mandatory orientation, meetings and training sessions as scheduled. • Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. • Present a professional appearance and attitude, and maintain a high standard of instruction at all times. • All other duties as assigned and appropriate. Qualifications • Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate skills in swim lesson instruction. • Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc. • Ability to work independently with energy and enthusiasm. • Ability to positively interact with all types of swimmers, including those who may be fearful in the water. • Previous aquatic experience is preferred. • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is preferred but not required.
