Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of activities related to providing customer and clerical support to operational and administrative areas. The key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Handle all customer contacts (phone) accurately and professionally, responding to inquiries and probing to provide first-contact resolution
  • Research required information using available resources and knowledge to provide informed and effective support
  • Accurately and thoroughly record call log notations in the system of record, ensuring data integrity and compliance
  • Defuse and deescalate irate customers, ensuring a great customer experience and promoting positive relationships
  • Verify and update customer information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Identify and escalate priority issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Perform data entry into SharePoint and PHA business system, maintaining data accuracy and integrity
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, landlords, co-workers, clients, and vendors, promoting a positive and supportive environment
  • Ensure regular attendance and punctuality, demonstrating a commitment to reliability and responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Obtain certification in Housing Choice Voucher Basics within 120 days of employment, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and growth

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Education equivalent to a two-year degree from a regionally accredited institution in Public Administration, Social Science, or a closely related field (preferred)
  • Alternatively, a minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience for a public agency, or related work in the social service or community service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex customer issues

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Call center experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Data entry experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Customer service experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Certification in Housing Choice Voucher Basics or a related field
  • Experience working with SharePoint and PHA business systems
