Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team at arenaflex. This role is responsible for handling property and casualty (P&C) related customer service and billing inquiries via telephone, providing customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact policyholders through inbound/outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal and update policies to enhance retention and better meet the needs of the consumer.
  • Counsel policyholders concerning appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws that will best meet their needs for sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Make appropriate recommendations and/or changes to the policy and gain policyholder acceptance to process the changes.
  • Receive and respond to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in EPIC.
  • Utilize knowledge of the insurance industry and arenaflex's policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to apply discounts, process insurance verification forms for insured, and act as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies.
  • Process changes to policies within EPIC and submit changes to specific companies, following up with companies to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner.
  • Review policy information and reference company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims.
  • Mail insured documentation to be signed and returned as necessary, following up to ensure documentation has been returned in a timely manner from members/customers.
  • Recognize cross-sell opportunities (membership and insurance) and obtain quote information.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment.
  • A Property and Casualty insurance license (required).
  • Membership license preferred and/or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of EPIC or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
