Employment Tax Specialist
Job Description:
• Work closely with senior tax directors and other colleagues to drive employment tax compliance across 100+ countries, with a dedicated regional focus in certain areas
• Participate in the execution of global tax compliance processes, requiring strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide support to local payroll teams with issues that arise related to returns, tax remittances, penalty assessments and other tax notices; include responding to inquiries from government agencies and seeking abatement as needed
• Manage employment tax audits wing to wing; liaise directly with government auditors, analyze data and assess risk, partner with senior tax directors to coordinate responses to auditors, and develop plans to remediate any audit findings.
• Conduct research on federal, state, and local tax issues; summarize implications for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law changes and advise on required adjustments to stay compliant for a dedicated region and/or list of countries
• Support development and implementation of tax planning strategies in partnership with senior tax directors and other enabling functions
• Monitor and track internal tax trends, summarizing risk exposure, identifying policy/process improvement opportunities that will mitigate or reduce risk, partner with local teams to implement tax savings programs or process improvements to close compliance gaps
• Use enabling tools such as AI to enhance tax compliance across the globe, and to create efficiencies in tax policy and processes.
Requirements:
• Proven track record of delivering accurate and compliant payroll/employment tax, accounting work, or law firm experience
• Experience in Global Equity and/or Travel & Living programs
• Experience with multinational employers, specifically within their payroll and/or tax programs, including international assignment and global mobility programs
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and use data insights to guide decision‑making and process enhancements
• Comfort conducting research on complex legislative requirements and making technical interpretations of government regulations
• Working knowledge of taxation requirements for employee benefit offerings including equity awards, pension, social security, health and welfare, and other fringe benefits
• Able to independently lead and act as primary point of contact for government audits
• Skilled in delivering presentations to diverse audiences, including senior leaders, and adept at leading discussions as the tax subject‑matter expert.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, critically assess and apply a high level of judgment to complex tasks or problems.
• High level of proficiency in the suite of Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proactive learner with a strong “can‑do” approach to new challenges
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Proficient in the English language and preferably at least one other language.
