Contracts Manager – Government Contractor
Position Overview
The Contract Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of contracts with U.S. federal, state, and local government customers, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (including FAR/DFARS and agency supplements), company policies, and business objectives. This role partners closely with Capture, Program Management, Finance, and Legal to structure, negotiate, administer, and close out prime contracts and subcontracts that support the company’s strategic goals.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Manage the end‑to‑end contract lifecycle, including pre‑award support, contract formation, administration, modifications, and closeout for government prime contracts and subcontracts.
• Review solicitations (RFPs/RFQs), support proposal development, and lead or support contract negotiations on terms, conditions, price, and risk allocation.
• Draft, review, and interpret contract documents, including prime contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, Teaming Agreements, Joint Venture agreements, Mentor‑Protégé agreements, and modifications to ensure alignment with company standards and legal requirements.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contract terms and conditions, including clauses related to pricing, data rights, intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, and termination.
• Ensure contract compliance with FAR, DFARS, GSAR, other agency supplements, and relevant Executive Orders; advise program and leadership teams on regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Support capture and program teams on GSA and other government‑wide acquisition contracts, including schedule maintenance, modifications, and compliance with ordering procedures.
• Monitor contract performance, deliverables, funding, and schedules; track and report risks, issues, and non‑conformances, and drive corrective actions with internal stakeholders and customer counterparts.
• Prepare, review, and process contract changes (change orders, REAs, claims, options, extensions, and administrative modifications) in coordination with Program Management, Finance, and Legal.
• Serve as primary contractual interface with Government Contracting Officers, CORs, and prime/subcontract partners, maintaining effective working relationships and resolving contractual disputes.
• Manage contractual actions and customer interfaces for Intelligence Community programs, coordinating closely with security, program management, and subcontractors to address unique contractual and security requirements.
• Maintain accurate contract files and records, including correspondence, approvals, funding documents, and compliance artifacts, in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize Deltek Costpoint for contract setup, funding, revenue, and billing, ensuring contract data is aligned with finance, pricing, and project controls.
• Support internal audits, external reviews, and assessments related to contract compliance and business systems; participate in continuous improvement of contract management processes, tools, and templates.
• Provide training and guidance to program teams on contract requirements, flow‑downs, GSA/other GWAC rules, and best practices in government contract management.
Qualifications Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Law, Public Administration, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in contract management or closely related roles with a government contractor, including direct experience with federal (DoD, Intelligence Community, GSA or civilian) contracts.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, GSAR, and other federal procurement regulations; experience with common contract types, including FFP, CPFF/CPIF, T&M/LH, and IDIQ vehicles.
• Hands‑on experience drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions, Teaming Agreements, NDAs, Joint Venture agreements, and Mentor‑Protégé agreements for federal contracts.
• Experience supporting Intelligence Community contracts, IT contracts and GSA schedule or other government‑wide contract vehicles is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Deltek Costpoint for contract setup, funding, revenue recognition, and billing, and for reconciliation with finance and project accounting.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess risk, interpret complex contract language, and propose practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with government customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership at multiple levels.
• Proficiency with standard office tools and contract management or CLM platforms for document control, workflow, and reporting.
• Professional certification such as NCMA’s Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required U.S. government security clearance for the position.
Work Conditions
• Full‑time remote position with periodic extended hours to meet proposal, negotiation, or contractual deadlines.
• May require occasional travel to customer sites, program locations, or company offices for meetings, reviews, and negotiations.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Our team members value the flexibility at Lentech that allows them to balance quality work and their personal lives. The range shown below is the national average for the position.
The proposed salary range for this position is: $110,000.00-$125,000.00
