[Remote] Head of Payor Contracting & Strategic Partnerships

They are seeking a leader for payor contracting and partnerships to drive fee-for-service and value-based care contracting, critical for accelerating surgical center onboarding and establishing partnerships across multiple geographies. Responsibilities • Lead local, regional, and national payor contracting to support Oath surgical center onboarding and expansion • Own baseline rate strategy, including market benchmarking and competitive analysis and assist in the architecture of supporting data infrastructure tied to the OathOS and VBC functions at Oath • Drive contract negotiations, amendments, renewals, and escalations • Support rate analysis and pro forma development for new service lines, including identification and procurement of appropriate actuary support • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Growth to align contracting timelines with regional launch plans • Lead VBC contracting efforts with payors, including, bundles and performance-based models • Support the design and execution of novel VBC collaborations anchored to Oath network access and referral partnerships • Support establishment of appropriate analytical, data and actuarial infrastructure to support scalable VBC operations and contracting • Serve as Oath representative to payors, building trusted, long-term partnerships • Identify and pursue non-traditional partnership opportunities, including pilots, preferred provider arrangements, and regional collaborations • Act as a conduit for market intelligence to inform network expansion, service line strategy, and pricing decisions • Run multiple contracting workstreams simultaneously across regions and payors • Tie payor partnership/ contracting to Oath RCM and OathOS capabilities • Own contract lifecycle management including renewal calendars and prioritization • Work closely with Legal, Finance, Analytics, Operations, Growth, and Clinical teams • Develop playbooks, templates, and negotiation frameworks as the function scales Skills • 10+ years in payor contracting, managed care, or strategic partnerships • Experience at provider platforms, MSOs, ASCs, or value-based care organizations • Direct negotiation experience with local Blues and national payors • Demonstrated success with FFS contracting and VBC models • Expert negotiator with strong commercial instincts • Highly tactical and execution-oriented • Strong project management capability; thrives in ambiguity • Financially and analytically fluent • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Driven, and builder-minded • Must thrive and be highly productive in a fully remote environment • Comfortable operating without heavy infrastructure • Meaningful external credibility combined with a willingness to be as hands-on as necessary • Motivated by mission, impact, and growth • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-region expansion strongly preferred Benefits • Ownership and visibility—you’ll be building a new function at the core of Oath’s model • High-caliber peers—a small, world-class team of operators, clinicians, and technologists • Culture of precision and pace—fast decisions, zero bureaucracy, constant learning and execution • A mission that matters—to make surgery more affordable, transparent, and patient-centered Company Overview • Oath Surgical operates with distinction, offering our patients, associates, and partners unmatched value and experiences.
