Production Support Lead (Azure Expert) – Remote
Remote role with occasional travel to Philadelphia
We are seeking a highly experienced Production Support Lead with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to support and optimize our cloud‑native production environment. This role focuses on ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across modern distributed systems and microservices.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the Microsoft technology stack, Azure compute, Kubernetes, and enterprise‑grade security tools. You will troubleshoot complex issues, support production workloads, and collaborate closely with engineering and DevOps teams to maintain a stable, high‑performing platform.
Responsibilities
• Provide day‑to‑day production support for cloud applications running on Azure
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Azure compute, Kubernetes (AKS), microservices, networking, and data services
• Monitor system performance, identify root causes, and implement long‑term fixes
• Support deployments, testing, and validation of new features in production
• Manage and optimize Azure resources including VMs, App Services, Functions, Storage, and networking components
• Configure and support Barracuda firewalls and related security controls
• Maintain reliability and performance across distributed systems and APIs
• Develop documentation, runbooks, and best practices for production operations
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response
• Recommend improvements to strengthen system stability, scalability, and observability
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in production support, cloud operations, or site reliability engineering
• Expert‑level knowledge of Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, monitoring, security)
• Strong understanding of the Microsoft technology stack
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred) and containerized microservices
• Experience with Barracuda firewalls or similar enterprise firewalls
• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers
• Experience supporting distributed systems, APIs, and event‑driven architectures
• Ability to test, validate, and scale cloud workloads
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to travel occasionally to Philadelphia
Preferred Qualifications
• Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
• Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Experience in fintech or regulated industries
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $110,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
