[Remote] RCI-ABBV-32408 Bioinformatics Scientist (Immunology/scRNASeq/Bulk RNASeq/Omics/Spatial Transcriptomics/Python/Linux/Snakemake/Nextflow)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Rangam is seeking a talented Bioinformatics Scientist to join their BIGGS team, which focuses on computational research and data-driven insights for immunology discovery. The role involves performing data integration and analysis of bulk transcriptomics, single-cell omics, and spatial transcriptomics datasets related to liver biology and metabolic-associated liver disease.
Responsibilities
• Systematically QC, annotate, and integrate public omics and single-cell datasets
• Perform downstream analyses on the integrated datasets; employ cutting-edge tools and analytical approaches to advance the understanding of liver disease biology
• Contribute easily maintainable, robust, and flexible code for analysis pipelines
• Interpret and communicate results to the wider scientific team
Skills
• PhD with 8 yrs exp will be considered
• PhD with post doc or industry exp will be considered as well or Masters with 5 yrs exp will be considered
• Industry exp will be given first preference
• Candidate with in-depth expertise and skill match will be considered
• Exp with spatial transcriptomics
• PhD will be first preference
• Masters will be second preference
• Snakemake or galaxy is acceptable
• This is more of a analysis role rather than engineering role
• Python and/or R; working in Linux environments exp needed
• Need support to Help integrate some of the published data sets on bulk transcriptomics, single transcriptomics potentially spatial and top create a particular master data set for disease of interest and then to probe biology
• Team is a part if immunology bioinformatics
• Perform computational analysis on all types of data (omics, bulk RNASeq, Proteomics, Single-cell RNASeq, spatial transcriptomics) to analyze external data sets to support discovery immunology precision medicine and clinical development
• Single-cell RNASeq, bulk RNASeq, is a must have
• Knowledge of statistics
• All the analysis is on hands on and code based in R or python (coding skills will be analytical part)
• Candidate will be Optimize and onboard new algorithms (Troubleshooting & testing)
• Genomic and multi-omic data analysis, including advanced analyses of single-cell RNASeq, bulk RNASeq, and preferably spatial transcriptomics. Familiarity with statistical approaches in omics
• Fluency in Python and/or R; working in Linux environments; familiarity with workflow management (Nextflow), version control
• Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Educational background: Masters with 3-5, PhD 0-3 years of experience
• Experience in immunology or fibrotic diseases especially MASH is a plus
• Familiarity with the best practices and cutting-edge tools in single-cell analysis is preferable
