This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Europe, Asia Location: Hybrid in Malta (The Quad) Industry: Web3 / iGaming / Sportsbook Reporting to: Co-Founders The Mission You'll join a bold, fast-moving Web3 start-up with a live Crypto Casino product and aggressive growth plans. They operate with no red tape, quick decision-making, and high ambition. The a critical pivot point: Moving from Outsourced to In-House. Therefore, we are looking for a CTO or Director of Engineering who is not just a manager of people, but a master of technology. You will take the keys to the tech stack, migrate it in-house, and architect the future of our platform - including gamified Mystery Box verticals. The Mandate This is a hybrid role. You will be the Architect, the Lead Coder, and the Team Builder all in one. 1. The Migration & Stabilization (Immediate Priority) • Take Control: Execute the full migration of codebases, databases, and infrastructure from external partners to internal ownership. • Ruthless Audit: Personally review the legacy code. Identify security risks, scalability bottlenecks, and technical debt - then fix them. • Establish Culture: Implement the first true engineering standards (CI/CD, Code Review, QA) to turn a "project" into a scalable product. 2. The Architecture (The "Heavy Lifting") • Web3 Innovation: Lead the technical strategy for new products, ensuring deep integration with on-chain mechanics. • Scalability: Ensure the system can handle 100x growth without crashing. You will make the high-level decisions on Microservices vs. Monolith, Database Sharding, and Caching strategies. 3. The Leadership (The "Director" Hat) • Strategic Advisory: Partner with the Co-Founders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps. You will advise on "Buy vs. Build" decisions and manage the tech budget. What You Bring to the Table You are a veteran engineer who has evolved into a leader, but you haven't put down the keyboard. • The "Rescue" Mindset: You have experience taking over code from third parties. You are not afraid of a messy codebase; you see it as a puzzle to solve. • Web3 Native: You understand the blockchain ecosystem (Wallets, Smart Contracts, Tokenomics) and can bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 tech. • Hands-On Proficiency: You can still out-code most seniors. You are proficient in modern stacks (e.g., Node.js, React, SQL/NoSQL) and cloud infrastructure. • Startup Speed: You prioritize "shipping" over "perfecting."
