Senior Concept Artist About the Role & Team Disney Digital Entertainment, a division of Disney Experiences, is embarking on a mission to create the ‘digital front door’ for The Walt Disney Company, bringing all of the magic of Disney together into a new interactive universe! Working with top-class industry talent, this role is perfect for the seasoned Senior Concept Artist looking to create something epic - collaborating with an incredible group of game developers focusing on individual experiences to build a wonderfully rich and cohesive product that is truly “Disney”. We are looking for a uniquely talented Senior Concept Artist to join us on a daring and exciting new project. What You Will Do + Collaborate with artists, designers, and other disciplines to create engaging, inspiring and appealing character, environment, gameplay concepts based on Disney’s robust portfolio of characters and worlds including Disney/Pixar, 20th Century, Marvel and Star Wars. + Engage with art directors and other internal and external partners to create visual consistency and quality across the entire experience. + Balance time, iteration and detail, working from thumbnails and sketches to finished illustrations and images. + Help create visual guides, storyboards, production callouts, color scripts and other reference materials. + Serve as a key member of a growing game development team at Disney, providing visual inspiration to internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications & Skills + 5 years of game development experience, including holding a position of Concept Artist for at least 3 years + Possess strong creative vision, an excellent eye for artistic quality and solid knowledge of current game development techniques used to achieve specific visual targets. + Excel at environmental design, including lighting, composition, staging, and architecture. + Demonstrate a deep understanding of human and creature anatomy, as well as character and costume design. + Enjoy working in a diverse range of styles, from photo realistic to highly stylized. + Know how and when to work quickly, and when to pursue final shipping detail and quality. + Enjoy creative problem-solving and building something new and innovative. + Value building and being part of an inclusive and positive team culture. Education + A Bachelor’s degree in Art and/or Design or equivalent combination of education and experience. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
