Senior Construction Accountant ($100-110K)

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT Responsibilities: • Produce comprehensive project-level financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analyses, and ad hoc schedules as requested • Maintain construction-in-progress records, ensuring all project-related draws, distributions, and activity are accurately captured • Prepare, review, and post recurring journal entries for month-end and quarter-end closes • Manage and reconcile construction loan activity, including funding draws, repayments, and monthly interest calculations • Establish and monitor project funding structures, including equity and construction loan budgets • Oversee accounts payable activity related to development projects, ensuring proper cost tracking and timely vendor payments • Analyze job cost reports and collaborate with internal teams to adjust project budgets as needed • Record depreciation, amortization, and ongoing operational accounting entries during and post-stabilization • Perform routine cash and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness • Coordinate with contract administration to ensure contracts are properly set up and maintained in the system • Track and amortize loan-related fees and maintain interest accrual schedules throughout the construction period • Support annual audit efforts by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries • Compile and review joint venture financial information and prepare trial balances for system uploads • Prepare and process construction draws for all wholly owned development projects • Generate quarterly preferred return calculations, waterfall analyses, and capital account balance reports across all projects Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 3+ years of construction/project accounting experience • Residential construction experience highly preferred (single family or multi-family) • Experience with Yardi or MRI • Exposure to fund accounting or private equity funds a plus • Advanced Excel skills highly preferred Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
