Interior Design Drafter

Interior Design Drafter (Remote - US Based, Contract Role) POSITION TYPE: Contract (Remote - US Based) SCHEDULED HOURS: Flexible, based on project load REPORTS TO: Design Director + Senior Interior Designers PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE US WILL BE CONSIDERED. RELOCATION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION. The Interior Design Drafter supports Senior Interior Designers by producing accurate, detailed interior construction documents for luxury residential remodeling projects. This role is drafting-heavy and ideal for a technically strong designer who excels in Revit, AutoCAD, and interior detailing. As a remote contract team member, you will collaborate closely with the Company's design team to translate design concepts into precise drawings, take-offs, and project documentation used during estimating and construction. What You'll Do: • Drafting & Documentation • Produce accurate construction drawings, interior elevations, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, cabinetry details, and millwork drawings for luxury remodeling projects. • Translate Senior Interior Designer concepts into complete and detailed drafting packages. • Prepare revisions as needed throughout design and pre-construction. • Perform take-offs for materials, finishes, cabinetry, tile layouts, and specialty items to support budgeting and estimating. • Ensure drawings and documents meet the company's standards of quality, clarity, and completeness. • Design Support • Interpret design intent, sketches, and mark-ups provided by Senior Interior Designers. • Assist in preparing specification sheets, schedules, and documentation for selections. • Adjust drawings based on client feedback, project constraints, and vendor requirements. • Support rendering preparation when needed (Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop). • Project Coordination • Collaborate with designers, estimators, and consultants to ensure all documentation aligns with project requirements. • Integrate vendor information such as dimensions, installation requirements, and lead times into the drafting package. • Maintain organized digital project files and follow documentation workflows. • Support During Pre-Construction & Construction • Provide clarifications on drawings when questions arise from Project Managers, trade partners, or vendors. • Update drawings if modifications are required due to field conditions or design adjustments. • Ensure drafted details accurately reflect selected products and design elements. What We're Looking For We're seeking an Interior Design Drafter who brings: • Technical Skills • High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (Revit strongly preferred). • Skilled in interior construction documentation and detailing. • Experience with Illustrator & Photoshop for visual presentations (preferred). Chief Architect experience is a plus. • Ability to produce drafting sets for kitchens, baths, millwork, interior elevations, and luxury residential remodels. • Experience • 2-3+ years of interior design drafting experience, preferably in luxury residential or high-end remodeling. • Strong understanding of interior construction methods, cabinetry, millwork, and architectural detailing. • Ability to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings. • Professional Skills • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and responsiveness are essential for effective remote collaboration. • Self-motivated and able to manage workload, timelines, and revisions independently. • Familiarity with material specifications, codes, and residential construction standards.
