Associate Attorney - Environment and Energy / Insurance Recovery

About the position Lippes Mathias LLP seeks an ambitious mid- to senior level attorney with at least 5 years of experience to work directly with the Firm’s Environment and Energy Practice and Insurance Recovery, Counseling & Litigations Teams. Our environmental and insurance practices are nationwide in scope, with sophisticated clients that include developers, contractors, financial institutions, energy companies, manufacturers, private equity funds, Indian tribes, state agencies, and municipalities. Our teams, which include both lawyers and environmental engineers, advise on the full spectrum of environmental issue areas, and represent our clients before Congress and federal and state agencies and in the courts. The ideal candidate should have environmental regulatory (e.g., NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, RCRA), transactional, claims, and remediation/contamination-related experience. Strong communication skills, legal advocacy skills, and writing skills are required. Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are required. The attorney selected for this position will have the opportunity for immediate, direct client contact. A New York bar license is required. Preference to being in office in Jacksonville or West Palm Beach Florida, but open to being remote and/or hybrid. Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000. This is a good faith estimate for the position based on location and minimum criteria. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Full time employees are also eligible for a year-end bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning the first of the month following hire; immediate eligibility for the firm’s 401(k) and profit sharing plan; firm-arranged parking at our downtown locations; and firm-paid long-term disability coverage for all employees.
