Freelance Beauty Product Development Consultant (Part-Time | Los Angeles)

We are a fast-growing beauty brand based in Los Angeles, focused on innovative skincare and haircare products in collaboration with leading Korean labs. Our brand is Amazon-first, trend-driven, and built with a strong emphasis on product quality and long-term brand value. We are seeking an experienced Beauty Product Development Consultant to work closely with the founder on a part-time basis. This is not a corporate role — this is a hands-on opportunity to help shape the product direction of an emerging beauty brand. What You'll Do • Evaluate new product concepts (skincare / haircare) • Review ingredient lists and provide formulation feedback • Identify market trends and ingredient innovation • Advise on claims, positioning, and compliance risks • Provide strategic input before production decisions • Occasionally review samples and performance Ideal Background • 5+ years in beauty product development • Experience with US cosmetics compliance (FDA / MoCRA knowledge preferred) • Background at a beauty brand, lab, or contract manufacturer • Familiar with K-beauty trends (plus) • Entrepreneurial mindset preferred over corporate-only experience Engagement Structure • Part-time / consulting basis • Approx. 5–10 hours per week • Flexible schedule • Remote with occasional in-person meetings in LA (preferred) Compensation will be hourly or retainer-based depending on experience. • If you’re passionate about building innovative beauty products and want to collaborate closely with a founder-led brand, we’d love to connect.
