The role involves advising prospective and enrolled students on academic programs, processing degree plans and academic petitions, maintaining student records, and supporting student retention and orientation activities.
Highlights
• Advise students on academic programs, curriculum, and university requirements for admission and retention.
• Analyze and process degree plans, graduation applications, grade changes, and general petitions.
• Maintain and update student academic records and handle requests such as readmissions from suspension.
• Provide retention services for probation students and assist with financial aid appeals and Veteran's Administration paperwork.
• May assist in student orientations, recruitment efforts, and presentations at events.
• Requires familiarity with advising and academic administrative processes.
• Compensation range: $38,100 - $42,850 annually.
• Minimum of one year of related experience or a four-year degree in a related discipline, with education and experience considered interchangeable.
• Employment is subject to a criminal history check due to security-sensitive nature of the position.
• Position based within the Dean of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences department at University of Houston System.
