We are actively preparing to raise our pre-seed round and looking for an AI Robotics Research Scientist to join as a co-founder and shape the science behind what we build.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an AI Robotics Research Scientist who will become one of our technical co-founders. You will own the research and scientific direction of the company — from simulation and model training all the way to real-world robot deployment.
This is not a job. This is co-ownership. You will have a seat at the founding table, a voice in company direction, and meaningful equity.
This is an equity-only position while we raise. No salary until funded.
What You Will Own
Research & Science
• Lead the science behind Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model training
• Design sim-to-real transfer strategies that actually work on physical robots
• Develop LLM-driven scene generation pipelines for automated training environments
• Research and implement robot learning algorithms — imitation learning, RL, behavior cloning
• Validate trained models on real deployed robots in real environments
Robot Deployment
• Bridge the gap between simulation training and physical robot operation
• Develop deployment frameworks for dispatching trained robots to real-world tasks
• Build robust perception and manipulation pipelines for deployed robots
• Iterate on real-world performance and feed learnings back into training
Company Building
• Co-author the technical vision for investors and customers
• Help shape the product roadmap from a research perspective
• Contribute to fundraising conversations — tell our scientific story
• Hire and mentor future research team members as we grow
What We Are Looking ForMust Have
• ✅ Deep expertise in robot learning — imitation learning, RL, or policy learning
• ✅ Hands-on experience taking models from simulation to real hardware
• ✅ Strong Python and PyTorch skills
• ✅ Experience with robotics simulators (MuJoCo, Habitat, Genesis, PyBullet, Isaac)
• ✅ Experience working with real physical robots
• ✅ PhD or equivalent research experience in robotics, AI, or computer vision
• ✅ Entrepreneurial mindset — you want to build and own, not just research
• ✅ Experience with VLA or foundation models
Nice to Have
• ⭐ Familiarity with LLM-based code or scene generation
• ⭐ Knowledge of robot arm design and hardware (motor selection, kinematics)
• ⭐ Experience with multi-camera data collection and teleoperation
• ⭐ Published research in robotics or embodied AI
• ⭐ Prior startup or research lab experience
