Company Description: SelfSoulLiberate is a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving health equity and reducing stigma surrounding mental health in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to provide educational resources, develop sustainable wellness frameworks, and make care more accessible. Role Description: We are seeking creative and thoughtful Script Writers to support the launch of our Animation Program. This volunteer role focuses on developing clear, engaging, and impactful scripts that will be used for animated content aligned with our mission and educational goals. This is a 6-9 month minimum commitment, with the opportunity to renew. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy storytelling, writing for visual media, and contributing to meaningful, purpose-driven content. Key Responsibilities: • Write short-form scripts for animated videos, including educational, informational, and storytelling content. • Collaborate with animators, program leads, and internal teams to align scripts with visual concepts and messaging. • Adapt complex topics into clear, accessible, and engaging narratives. • Revise and refine scripts based on feedback and evolving program needs. • Support the development of tone, style, and storytelling guidelines for the animation program. • Ensure scripts are culturally sensitive, inclusive, and aligned with organizational values. • Maintain organized documentation of scripts and revisions. Qualifications: • Strong writing and storytelling skills with attention to clarity and structure. • Ability to write for visual and animated formats. • Comfortable collaborating in a remote, feedback-driven environment. • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple writing tasks. • Prior experience in scriptwriting, content writing, or storytelling is an asset but not required. • Interest in mental health, education, or mission-driven content is strongly valued.
