Job Description
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Preferred Education
• Master's degree in computer science or related discipline
Preferred License/Certification
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• 6+ years of overall software development experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with large-scale data platforms
• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming using Java
• Experience with distributed systems, particularly Kafka and its ecosystem (e.g., Gateways, Publishers, Consumers)
• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud services including S3, RDS, IAM
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience using deployment tools like Terraform
• Proficient in version control systems such as Git and familiar with CI/CD workflows
• Experience in writing data pipelines using Spark or Flink
• Understanding of file formats such as Parquet and Avro
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to ask the right questions to define scope and requirements
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience
• Prior experience working in production cloud environments using ADP's infrastructure over EKS
• Familiarity with Trino and IRC
• Experience supporting QA and production environments with strict SLOs/SLAs
• Background in customer-facing technical roles
The Software Engineer will play a key role in supporting and enhancing WPC Crystal Cloud's QA and Production infrastructure. This position requires strong software development skills, cloud experience, and familiarity with data engineering practices. The ideal candidate will deploy and maintain services like Spark, Trino, and IRC using EKS and ADP tooling, onboard new data pipelines, and ensure high standards of data accuracy and consistency. Effective communication with internal stakeholders to gather and execute on requirements is essential. The role demands strong collaboration, problem-solving, and a commitment to operational excellence in a remote-first, PST-aligned environment.
Job Duties
• Support and upgrade WPC Crystal Cloud QA and Production infrastructure
• Deploy new services in QA and Production environments as per customer use cases
• Monitor and resolve user requests and system issues
• Support and onboard data pipelines, ensuring data quality and adherence to SLOs/SLAs
• Communicate with stakeholders to gather and implement technical requirements
• Maintain system accuracy and consistency across data flows and infrastructure deployments
