Systems Engineer - Traffic Modeling Missile Tracking (Secret / Remote)

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has a long-term contract opening for Missile Tracking Systems Engineer with an active DoD Secret clearance to design Traffic Data Models for the US Space Force Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground, Management and Integration (GMI) program. This role is 100% Remote and will require up to 25% travel to Scottsdale (mostly), Colorado, Huntsville, NJ or other locations as needed for team and client meetings. You will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). Additionally, you will be part of an elite team providing the evolution, expansion, integration, testing and maintenance of the ground entry points, operations centers, enterprise test and checkout capabilities and infrastructure management, including all development, systems engineering, integration, testing, maintenance, and site support. Key Responsibilities - Systems engineering that includes decomposing requirements into modeling of the traffic data flow from a satellite constellation to the ground network - Pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and satellite services to track missiles - Analysis of missile tracking data to validate the traffic model Required Skills - Must be US Citizen due to government requirement - Requires active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret - Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field and 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. - Agile experience preferred. Technical Skills Required: - Minimum of 8+ years of recent modeling of communication data, preferably using satellite constellations and ground networks - Minimum of 5+ years of recent Satellite to Ground RF communication protocol experience, end to end packet prioritization and routing, or traffic modeling experience - Must have experience in space ground communications, space ground Radar/IR, etc. - Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw. - Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
