Job description: Job Title: Junior WordPress Engineer (Intern) Location: Remote Company: WPspin LLC – Texas-based WordPress Agency About the Role WPspin LLC is looking for a Junior WordPress Engineer (Intern) who is eager to grow their skills and build real-world experience working on client projects. This role is ideal for someone with foundational WordPress knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn modern development workflows. You’ll work alongside senior engineers, project managers, and designers to help build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites while developing your technical and professional skills. Key Responsibilities • Assist in building and maintaining WordPress websites • Customize themes and page layouts under guidance from senior developers • Help update content, plugins, and site features • Support debugging and troubleshooting website issues • Follow WordPress best practices for clean and maintainable code • Optimize websites for basic performance and SEO improvements • Ensure websites meet basic accessibility and responsiveness standards • Participate in team meetings and occasional client calls • Use GitHub to manage code and collaborate with team members • Learn to estimate tasks and track progress with project managers Required Skills & Experience • Basic experience with WordPress (themes, plugins, dashboard) • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP • Understanding of how themes and plugins work in WordPress • Willingness to learn custom theme development and Gutenberg blocks • Basic Git or GitHub experience (or willingness to learn) • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset • Good communication skills in English • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and accept feedback • Portfolio, sample projects, or GitHub examples are a plus Nice-to-Have (Not Required) • Experience with WooCommerce, ACF, Elementor, or Divi • Basic knowledge of SEO, page speed, and Core Web Vitals • Familiarity with accessibility basics (WCAG) • Exposure to AI coding tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot • Internship, freelance, or coursework in web development Work Hours Must be available 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST Why Join WPspin LLC? • Mentorship from experienced WordPress engineers • Real-world project experience with growing responsibility • Opportunity to advance into a Mid-Level or Senior WordPress Engineer role • Remote-friendly, collaborative team culture • Long-term career growth in a fast-moving WordPress agency Job Type: Full-time Work Location: Remote Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
