MATH Course Developer / Adjunct - Associate Degree College Level Course

The Opportunity We are currently building the foundation for a high-impact Associate Degree program in Behavioral Health. We are seeking a subject matter expert in MATH 101 (algebra or quantitative reasoning) to help us develop—and eventually teach—a course that makes complex concepts accessible and relevant to future healthcare workers. Phase I: Collaborative Development (Immediate): Working closely with our Director of Education, you will: • Design a fully online curriculum for MATH 101 (algebra or quantitative reasoning) courses that emphasizes real-world application and practical skills building, using Canvas LMS. • Select High-Quality/OER (Open Educational Resources) to ensure student accessibility. • Create project-based assessments (e.g., case study reporting, empathetic communication, presentations, etc.) rather than traditional high-stakes testing. Phase II: Instructional Excellence (Post-Approval) Upon final program approvals, you will have the opportunity to transition into active instruction for these courses in our virtual classroom, if you so wish. Desired Experience and Qualifications • Education: A Master’s degree or higher in English, Communications, or a related Humanities field (with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline). • Subject Expertise: Specific experience in the areas of rhetoric, composition, or professional communication—ideally with an eye toward how these skills apply to the healthcare or behavioral health industry. • Proven Educator: You have built and taught courses at the college level. You possess a genuine passion for the "lightbulb moment" and helping students find their professional voice. • Practical Perspective: Professional experience in writing, editing, or corporate communications is strongly preferred, as we value bringing "real-world" context into the classroom.
