Job Description We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Graphic Designer to join our dynamic creative team in a remote capacity. As a Graphic Designer at Scanad Africa, you will be instrumental in translating strategic briefs into captivating visual designs across various platforms, including digital, print, and experiential media. You'll work on a diverse range of projects for some of Africa's leading brands, contributing to campaigns that not only look exceptional but also effectively communicate our clients' messages and achieve their objectives. This role requires a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong understanding of branding principles, and the ability to work independently while maintaining seamless collaboration with our distributed teams. You will be responsible for creating compelling visuals that tell a story, evoke emotion, and drive engagement. Your day-to-day will involve conceptualizing, designing, and refining visual assets, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to creative guidelines across all deliverables. Key Responsibilities • Conceptualize, develop, and execute innovative visual designs for a wide range of advertising and marketing materials, including digital ads, social media content, website graphics, print collateral, presentations, and branding elements. • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in visual style, typography, color palettes, and imagery across all client projects. • Collaborate closely with copywriters, art directors, account managers, and other creative team members to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions. • Present design concepts to internal teams and potentially clients, articulate design choices, and incorporate feedback thoughtfully and efficiently. • Stay abreast of industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance design quality and efficiency. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment. • Prepare final artwork files for various output methods (print, digital) ensuring technical accuracy and quality. Required Skills • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is mandatory. • A strong online portfolio showcasing diverse graphic design work and conceptual thinking. • Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy. • Proven ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field. • Experience with motion graphics (Adobe After Effects) or video editing software. • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles for digital platforms. • Experience working in an advertising agency or a fast-paced creative environment. • Knowledge of digital marketing principles and best practices for various platforms.
