Position Overview

The Remote Data Center Engineering Operations Manager will be a cornerstone of arenaflex’s data center engineering organization. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operational excellence of multiple mission‑critical facilities, ensuring availability, safety, security, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role blends hands‑on technical leadership, strategic planning, and people management – all from the comfort of your home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Direct daily data center engineering activities, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems, to meet stringent uptime and performance targets.
  • Safety & Security Champion: Serve as the primary advocate for safety and security initiatives, driving adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in data center infrastructure operations, with at least 6 years in a managerial capacity overseeing teams of 5+ direct reports.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of power distribution (feeders, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS, PDU), cooling systems (chillers, CRAC units, air handling units), and building management systems.
  • Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams, develop talent, and deliver large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement lasting solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Availability: Willingness to serve as on‑call incident manager during nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications
