Manager, Competitive Intelligence
About the position
The Manager, Competitive Intelligence will be part of a growing innovative team responsible for delivering actionable competitive insights to support strategic decision-making for both inline products and a late-stage pipeline asset. This person will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and communicating timely intelligence on competitors, industry trends, and market dynamics. They will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Medical, and R&D to anticipate market shifts, assess competitor actions, reduce decision risk, and inform portfolio and product strategy.
Responsibilities
• Competitive Monitoring & Research Track key competitors and industry developments through secondary research using syndicated databases, publications, conference coverage, and public filings.
• Develop and maintain competitive trackers, timelines, and profiles to support commercial and R&D teams.
• Monitor clinical trial activity, regulatory filings, and market events that may impact company strategy.
• Maintain CI dashboards and work with teams to develop additional dashboards
• Support CI deliverables such as competitor landscape assessments, market overviews, SWOT analyses, and conference debriefs.
• Partner with senior CI team members to analyze data and translate findings into concise insights for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in developing executive summaries and slide decks for cross-functional reviews.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Commercial, Medical, and R&D to address intelligence needs.
• Support ad hoc CI requests and special projects across therapeutic areas or product life stages.
• Contribute to preparation and execution of CI initiatives such as congress surveillance, war games, scenario analysis planning, and strategic workshops.
• Work with vendors and consultants to coordinate secondary and primary CI projects.
• Maintain knowledge of CI tools and databases relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and ensure effective utilization.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, public health, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with at least 2 years in a CI, strategic insights, or related function.
• Proven success conducting CI to support advancement of early-stage pipeline and inline products.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and supporting commercial or clinical functions is a plus.
• Experience gathering insights and assessing business opportunities.
• Proficiency with secondary research tools
• An understanding of the pharmaceutical market and clinical development and regulatory milestones.
• A basic understanding of CI frameworks and techniques
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing presentation materials a plus.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• Ability to travel 20%.
• Ability to work a weekly hybrid office schedule in our Waltham location.
