Dispute Analyst
About the position
The Dispute Analyst handles incoming dispute claims and first payment defaults, investigating, and effectively processing in a timely manner in accordance with applicable network regulations. This role ensures service standards are met, provides support of department goals, and coordinates the reduction and control of losses.
Responsibilities
• Intake, perform analysis, and research to resolve dispute claims within required timeframes while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Professionally communicate with clients, internal partners, other financial institutions, merchants, etc. via phone, email, fax, or letter during the dispute process.
• Use sound judgment in addition to all available resources to make well-informed decisions when approving or denying a dispute.
• Research the validity of the dispute and the reasons behind it to best determine root causes.
• Assist in contacting past due customers to obtain payment or resolve issues in compliance with company policies.
• Assist with review of suspicious or questionable claims as needed.
• Work customer dispute emails as delegated.
• Monitor disputed transactions to more quickly and clearly identify risks.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
• Associate degree in business, finance, communication, marketing or related field OR 1 years’ experience in related field.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software.
