Strategic Advisor – IOP & Behavioral Health Programs (Part-Time | Remote)
We're a small, growing behavioral health practice building something meaningful from the ground up. Our website may suggest a large organization, but we're a close-knit team with big ambitions, and we're looking for the right experienced leader to help us get there. If you've been in the trenches of behavioral health operations and want to apply that expertise in a high-impact advisory role, we want to talk.
The Opportunity
This is not a clinical role, it's a seat at the table. As our Strategic Advisor for IOP & Behavioral Health Programs, you'll work directly with top leadership to help us build, refine, and scale our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), medical management and outpatient service offerings. Your insights will shape how we grow, how we operate, and how we serve our clients at the highest level.
This is a part-time, flexible engagement ideal for a seasoned professional who wants to stay active in the field in a strategic capacity, without the demands of a full-time executive role.
What You'll Advise On
• Design and optimization of substance abuse and generalized behavioral health IOP programs
• Virtual IOP infrastructure, workflow, and best practices
• Medical management program development and oversight strategy
• Operational systems, staffing models, and program compliance
• Growth strategy, payer contracting, and program sustainability
• Regulatory and accreditation readiness (CARF, Joint Commission, state licensing)
What We're Looking For
• Extensive hands-on experience running IOP programs, preferably both substance abuse and behavioral health
• Background in medical management programs within a behavioral health context
• Deep operational knowledge: you've built programs, fixed problems, and know what works
• Experience advising or reporting to executive leadership
• Familiarity with virtual/telehealth IOP delivery models
• Strong strategic thinking paired with practical, real-world execution
• Independent, self-directed, and comfortable working with a small but driven team
Ideal Background
• Former or current Program Director, Clinical Director, VP of Operations, or Chief Clinical Officer in a behavioral health setting
• Experience with multi-payer environments including Medicaid, Medicare, VA, and commercial insurance
• Familiarity with outpatient and intensive outpatient regulatory requirements in Maryland (or willingness to get up to speed quickly)
What We Offer
• Direct access to and collaboration with top leadership
• Flexible, part-time engagement, you set the pace with us
• Competitive consulting compensation (commensurate with experience)
• A genuine opportunity to shape a growing practice from the inside
• The satisfaction of building something that matters
Ready to Make an Impact? If you've spent your career building and running programs that change lives and you're ready to bring that expertise to a growing practice that's ready to listen, we'd love to connect.
