Research Participants Needed
Navigating Roman-script literacy acquisition from learners to instructors: A hermeneutic phenomenological study of adult EFL ESL educators experiences with multimodal instructional resources
1) Are you 22 years of age or older?
2) Did you become literate in Roman script (English) after first becoming literate in a non-Roman script system?
3) Do you currently teach or have taught beginner EFL ESL learners in young adult, adult education, or higher education contexts?
4) Are you credentialed to teach English as a foreign or second language, through either international certification or nationally recognized qualification?
If you answered yes to each of the questions listed above, you may be eligible to participate in a research study.
The purpose of this research study is to explore how adult EFL ESL educators experienced their own Roman/Latin-script literacy transition when they learned English and how they now support similar learners using multimodal resources.
Participants will be asked to:
a) Take part in a one-on-one interview (+/- 60 minutes)
b) Submit reflective journal entries (+/- 90 minutes)
c) Respond to an elicitation activity involving visual and textual materials (+/- 45 minutes)
d) Review and confirm the accuracy of their interview transcript (+/- 15 minutes)
Names and other identifying information will be requested as part of this study, but participant identities will not be disclosed.
A consent document will be emailed to you if you meet the study criteria. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.
After all the data collection is completed, participants will receive a USD $100 honorarium.

Although the Cambridge CELTA certificate is preferred, ANY teaching credential will do.
A university degree is not necessary IF the candidate holds a TEFL qualification.Salary and Benefits
