Our Remote Administrative Assistant – Customer Engagement & Audit Team Support role is pivotal to the smooth operation of audit engagements across King County. As the connective tissue between audit managers, auditors, external stakeholders, and internal support services, you will ensure that every audit project runs efficiently, complies with policy, and delivers value to citizens. Key Responsibilities

Working remotely but often traveling to various offices in the King County area, you will be expected to:

  • Serve as a liaison between Audit Managers and staff, handling daily communications via phone, email, and collaboration platforms to meet information requests promptly.
  • Coordinate office operations to maximize the use of space, equipment, and personnel, ensuring that each location runs like a well‑oiled machine.
  • Manage office assets including lease agreements, equipment maintenance, and supply inventories while adhering to budget and policy guidelines.
  • Maintain financial stewardship by acting as the purchase‑card custodian, reconciling statements, and overseeing team recognition budgets (gift cards, small tokens of appreciation).
  • Facilitate human‑resource functions such as recruitment coordination, interview scheduling, new‑hire orientation, payroll processing, and time‑sheet reviews.
  • Support audit logistics including the creation and distribution of audit engagement letters, scheduling entrance/exit interviews, and managing pre‑audit request lists.
  • Oversee audit documentation by maintaining electronic and physical files, archiving completed audits, and ensuring compliance with record‑retention policies.
  • Track hotline and fraud cases, update activity logs, communicate status to citizens and internal teams, and assist auditors in case management.
  • Provide data entry assistance for team‑level reporting, budgeting, and performance metrics as needed.
  • Travel as required to various King County offices to provide on‑site support, conduct inventory checks, and foster relationships with local staff.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administrative support, preferably within a government, audit, or compliance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, purchase‑card administration, and budget monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with cloud‑based collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft professional correspondence and liaison documents.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating human‑resource functions such as onboarding, payroll, and time‑keeping.
  • Ability to travel within the King County service area on a regular basis (approximately 2‑3 days per month).
  • High level of discretion and integrity, especially when handling confidential audit information and financial data.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
