Senior Lumber Trader (Remote | Commission-Based)

Salary: $80k - 120k per year Reference: RJWSLT(03/04/26) -1 We are selectively adding a Senior Lumber Trader to our trading desk to support continued growth and expand market reach. This opportunity is designed for experienced traders who already understand lumber markets, manage active relationships, and prefer operating with a high level of autonomy. This role is fully remote and performance-driven, ideal for professionals who want control over their book of business while being backed by strong operational support. What You’ll Be Responsible For • Own and grow an established book of business with active buyers and suppliers • Source lumber and building materials from mills, manufacturers, and trading partners • Execute full truckload and mixed-load sales to distributors, reloads, wholesalers, and end users • Monitor market movement, pricing trends, and supply-demand dynamics • Execute back-to-back trades while maintaining minimal ground inventory • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize margins • Provide customers with ongoing market insight and product availability • Coordinate logistics to ensure smooth, on-time shipments • Track trades, margins, and customer activity accurately • Ensure all trading activity aligns with company policies and industry standards What We’re Looking For • 3+ years of experience in lumber trading, commodity trading, or building materials sales • Existing book of business or strong, active industry relationships • Deep knowledge of lumber species, grades, markets, and terminology • Strong pricing, negotiation, and decision-making skills • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume trading environment • Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently • Relationship-driven mindset with a focus on long-term partnerships Why This Opportunity • Fully remote with no geographic limitations • Commission-based compensation with strong upside for top performers • High level of autonomy — run your desk, your way • Backed by experienced operational and administrative support • Built for senior traders, not entry-level or training-focused roles If you’re an experienced lumber trader looking for flexibility, independence, and a performance-driven environment, apply today.
