Position Overview: Career Coach (Career Strategies Professional II) We are seeking a passionate, results‑driven Career Coach to join our Student Services team. This role functions as a trusted mentor, guiding undergraduate business students through the full arenaflex of career development—from self‑assessment and skill‑building to securing internships, co‑ops, and full‑time positions. Working remotely yet deeply embedded in the Tucson community, you will partner with students, faculty, alumni, and industry employers to create a seamless bridge between academic achievement and professional success. Key Responsibilities • Individual & Group Coaching: Manage a diverse caseload of undergraduate students, delivering personalized career consultations, résumé reviews, interview preparation, and job‑search strategies. • Program Development & Delivery: Design, market, and facilitate workshops, webinars, and experiential‑learning events that enhance professional competencies such as networking, personal branding, and digital presence. • Experiential Learning Coordination: Align students with internships, co‑ops, and project‑based opportunities that reflect their academic majors and career aspirations. • Employer Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, national, and international organizations, securing meaningful recruitment pipelines and on‑campus recruiting events. • Alumni Partnerships: Leverage the Eller alumni network to develop mentorship programs, elite internship placements, and speaking engagements that enrich the student experience. • Data‑Driven Assessment: Track program outcomes, analyze usage statistics, and produce annual reports to demonstrate impact and guide continuous improvement. • Student Organization Support: Advise career‑oriented student clubs, providing resources, event planning assistance, and strategic direction. • Community Outreach: Represent Eller at regional business associations, chambers of commerce, and industry conferences to expand the college’s visibility and partnership opportunities. Essential Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional learning; advanced coursework in Business, Human Resources, Education, or a related field is preferred. • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of proven experience in career counseling, professional development, corporate recruitment, or a related advisory role. • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to build rapport with a diverse student population, faculty, alumni, and corporate partners. • Communication Excellence: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating complex information into clear, actionable guidance. • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with career‑management platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity), virtual meeting tools, and data‑analytics software. • Eligibility: Ability to pass a name‑based criminal background check and meet the University’s employment eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications & Desirable Experience • Professional experience in accounting, finance, marketing, management information systems, or operations management. • Direct corporate recruiting or talent‑acquisition background, preferably within Fortune 500 or high‑growth startup environments. • Event planning expertise, including virtual career fairs, panel discussions, and on‑site employer engagements. • Evidence of successful program design and delivery for undergraduate cohorts. • Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, particularly serving first‑generation, underrepresented, or Latino/Hispanic student populations.
