The Clinical Informatics Engineer for the Office of Medical Affairs will develop core informatics infrastructure to support care delivery, operations, quality, education, and research in the clinical services at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC). The Clinical Informatics Engineer will facilitate and promote the usage of decision and data science to provide clarity in complex decision-making and drive practical performance improvements. She/he will work to create, maintain and grow a framework for data governance, shared knowledge repositories, and self-service dashboards. She/he will work closely with the Office of Medical Affairs and clinical service leadership to assist in the implementation of innovative clinical operations and quality improvement solution projects. The Clinical Informatics Engineer will also contribute to the ongoing growth and development of Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) as a national leader in healthcare delivery. This is a hybrid role where you need to be onsite 2-3 times per week. Responsibilities • Develop and deploy core infrastructure to support essential functions of the Medical Affairs office as well as clinical services across the campus. • Employ the use of simulation and prediction modeling to help guide operational decision making. • Recommend resource planning based on optimization modeling and queuing theory. • Use business and data analytics to evaluate clinical initiatives and to adapt and integrate current hospital processes. • Create progressively automated solutions to allow for greater self-service data exploration by clinical leadership. • Implement and maintain interactive dashboards with various key performance metrics. • Assist in the analysis of quality improvement and research projects to include data extraction, scrubbing, feature extraction, and statistical analysis. • Facilitate system specification, workflows, and necessary documentation for new features that facilitate informatics deliverables. • Manage documentation and communication for problem determination and resolution. • Develop reports for use and distribution in support of the various clinical department initiatives. • Other duties and/or projects as assigned. • Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Requirements • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Major. • Minimum of 1 year of industry operations experience. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong SQL, Python, and JavaScript coding skills • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms. Nice-to-haves • Doctorate/PhD Degree in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Major • Knowledge of the Epic Clarity database • Background in research • Background working in healthcare as a provider, technician, scribe, etc. • Epic Clarity Data Model • AMIA Health Informatics Certification Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
