Architectural Designer / Building Design Consultant

Project: Church Exterior Renovation – Front Entrance Redesign Church in the Country is seeking a skilled Architectural Designer or Building Design Consultant to help develop buildable plans for a renovation of the front exterior of our church building. We have an initial concept image that captures the look and style we want. We are looking for someone who can take that concept and turn it into real construction plans that contractors can use to build the project while integrating it with our existing structure. Project Overview This project involves redesigning and upgrading the front exterior of our existing church building, including architectural elements such as wood features, entry design, overhangs, and exterior aesthetics. The goal is to create a rustic, high-quality entrance design that enhances the appearance of the building while ensuring the design is practical and structurally sound. Responsibilities The selected designer will: • Review the existing building structure and measurements • Use our concept image as a starting point for design • Create architectural drawings and construction plans • Design how the new structure will connect to the existing building • Specify materials and structural components (wood sizes, framing layout, etc.) • Provide buildable blueprints or construction documents • Work with the church and contractor to ensure the design is feasible and cost-effective • Provide guidance on structural integrity and construction methods Deliverables • Exterior design drawings • Construction blueprints or framing plans • Material specifications • Structural layout for new elements • Clear guidance that contractors can use to build the project Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with experience in: • Architectural design • Exterior building renovations • Wood and structural framing • Creating buildable construction plans • Working with existing structures and remodel projects Experience with church, commercial, or rustic-style architectural projects is a plus.
