Remote: Sr. 5G Engineer with an Arch emphasis - MPN

About the Role We are seeking a seasoned Principal Engineer to lead the design, automation, and strategic evolution of Mobile Private Networks (MPNs). This role is ideal for a technical leader with deep expertise in 4G/5G core technologies, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise network solutions. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and external partners to build resilient, scalable, and customer-centric MPN infrastructure that supports next-gen enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities · Serve as the subject matter expert on Mobile Private Networks, including EPC and 5architecture. · Design and implement automation and orchestration strategies for virtual and bare metal network applications. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and network changes. · Define and contribute to the strategic roadmap for EPC, 5 transport, and enterprise onboarding. · Vet and approve network designs, proactively identifying and resolving issues before deployment. · Lead the design of migration strategies for enterprise customers transitioning to 5GC. · Support the development of next-gen private networks for innovative enterprise use cases. · Identify and mitigate risks in network projects to minimize customer impact. · Provide technical insight into long-term technology strategy and planning for enterprise networks. · Drive the deployment and automation of 5G SMF/UPF, vLMA, and network slicing environments. Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field. · 6+ years of experience in telecom or enterprise network engineering. · Deep understanding of 4G/5G Core technologies (EPC, 5 SMF, UPF). · Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and open-source tools. · Experience with container-based solutions using Kubernetes and/or Docker. · Proven troubleshooting skills in wireless network architecture. Preferred Qualifications · Master’s degree or equivalent experience. · Hands-on experience with AMF, SMF, UPF applications. (Ericsson SMF/ UPF) · Familiarity with MPN architecture and virtualized network functions. · Experience with the transport side · Strong Routing Experience (CISCO Routing and Switching ) · Strong leadership and project management skills. · Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate across diverse teams. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
