Professional Development Specialist Per Diem | Hybrid in Tennessee Position Details: Positions begin in the current school year 2025-2026. Per diem (minimum number of hours are not guaranteed). Schedules vary based on individual school needs. Skills needed in elementary school experience, middle/high school experience, math/science/STEM and ELA background How you’ll be there for educators and students: Be their career guide. Be their collaborator. Be their consultant. Our PD Specialists equip teachers/school leaders with exceptional life-long experiences. Be there for them by building their skills in key instructional areas like literacy, math, STEM, technology implementation, and blended learning. The ripple effect of your impact will be felt by countless students as their teachers and school leaders leave every interaction with you better equipped to deliver on our promises to students. With our resources and ongoing support, you can be wholly present and do what you love to do: create a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that fosters student growth and development. Responsibilities • Host dynamic and collaborative planning conferences that unleash the creative potential of educators. • Support leaders in school improvement planning. • Conduct campus based needs assessments and collaborate with leaders on school improvement planning over 4 years. • Coach site based leaders. • Coach, train, and mentor teachers individually/one-on-one. • Craft creative example lessons that captivate students. • Lead interactive professional development workshops when needed. • Research and demonstrate instructional strategies. • Foster a culture of active participation and vibrant open discussions. • Ensure all educator development is completed successfully. • Provide report documentation as required. • Communicate actively with directors regarding activities. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (master’s degree preferred). • Experience delivering professional development workshops to adult educators. • Experience coaching teachers and/or school leaders either cognitively, instructionally or within a specific content-area focus in mind. • Must include school turnaround experience/school transformation. • 10+ years of teaching experience • 5+ years of administration experience • Excellent communication skills. • Microsoft Office experience Nice-to-haves • Expertise in SPED, ELL, Math, ELAR is beneficial Benefits • Competitive per diem pay. • An attractive and robust suite of benefits for full-time employees: employees who work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for insurance benefits (health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, accident, critical illness, and more) and our 401k plan with company match. • Opportunities for professional development, advancement, and paid training. • Carefully curated professional development materials and lesson plans. • Employee assistance program. • A generous time off policy: employees who work 15 or more hours per week are eligible for sick and personal time; holidays and other periods when schools are closed are paid for full-time, salaried roles.
