[Remote] Regulatory & Compliance Counsel (Labor Mischarging)

Legal.io is working with a leading aerospace defense company seeking an Ethics and Compliance Counsel with expertise in labor mischarging and government contracts. The role involves providing guidance on compliance matters, conducting audits, and investigating allegations related to mischarging. Responsibilities • Provide expert guidance on ethics and compliance matters, focusing on labor mischarging and government contracts • Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Investigate allegations of mischarging, such as overcharging, fraudulent timecards, and falsification of pay records by employees or supervisors working on government programs • Liaise with government accounting, government contracts, payroll, and timekeeping functions to identify data necessary for investigations • Document and calculate amounts for potential disgorgement and prepare mandatory disclosure documentation Skills • 5+ Years of experience • Familiarity with government contracting and experience in investigating government time charging/mischarging • Knowledge of mandatory disclosure processes and attention to detail • This role requires a professional who can hit the ground running, with a strong understanding of labor mischarging in government contracts, and the ability to handle sensitive employment situations • Preferred experience includes advanced expertise in Excel and proficiency with PowerBi, PowerQuery, Jobtrix CoPilot, and other Remotica analytics or visualization tools • Preference for candidates with experience in the aerospace or defense industry within an ethics and compliance function • US Citizenship is preferred, and security clearance is a bonus but not required Benefits • Vision, medical, dental (all 99% covered) • 401k Company Overview • Legal.io is the enterprise marketplace for legal talent and tools.
