Landscape Design and Rendering for Montessori Playground

• *Job Description: Landscape Designer for Montessori Outdoor Playground** We are excited to announce an opening for a talented and innovative landscape designer to join our team in creating a unique nature-based outdoor playground specifically tailored for a Montessori educational environment. This project is not just about designing a play area; it’s about crafting a vibrant, engaging space that fosters exploration, creativity, and learning through the use of natural elements. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in landscape design with a focus on creating play spaces that are not only visually appealing but also safe and conducive to the developmental needs of children. We are looking for someone who is passionate about integrating nature into play areas and has a keen understanding of how outdoor environments can enhance a child’s learning experience. In this role, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive plans, including detailed layouts, material specifications, and 3D renderings that beautifully capture the essence of a child-centered outdoor area. Your designs should reflect the values of the Montessori philosophy, emphasizing independence, exploration, and a connection to nature. Their are two playground spaces. One is the Transition playground (18m - 3yr) and the other is the larger Main playground ( 3-5 yrs) . Within the Main playground area, there are several existing trees that we would like to incorporate into the design, creating a natural canopy and enhancing the overall aesthetics and functionality of the space. Additionally, we have brick columns that will feature a horizontal wood picket fence between them, adding a rustic charm to the environment. For the Transition playground we envision: - **Green Space/mulch:** Areas of grass and soft landscaping where children can run, play, and explore freely. - **Sandbox:** A dedicated sand play area that encourages tactile play and creativity. - **Natural Wood-Based Play Structures:** Climbing frames, suspension bridge, slides, and other play equipment constructed from natural materials, all designed with Montessori learning themes in mind, promoting imaginative play and physical activity. - A toddler bike track around the right side of the playground, providing a safe area for young children to practice riding and developing their motor skills. For the Main playground, similar setup is expected but for slightly older children - Green space, mulch - small hill or tunnel for kids. Turf or grass covered. - Sandbox - Larger play structure (swings, slides, suspension bridge, natural wood logs etc) - A rubber padded bike track that wraps around the entire playground.
