Business Development Manager - Oil and Gas - Independent Contractor

By connecting to rig data such as surface sensors and EDR feeds, AI Drilling Sentinel identifies early indicators of wellbore instability, circulation losses, and stuck-pipe risks. These insights are translated into actionable alerts, enabling drilling teams to make informed decisions. The platform aims to minimize non-productive time, prevent incidents, and enhance drilling safety and efficiency. Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager - Oil and Gas. The role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and managing relationships with clients, and developing strategies to expand market presence. Responsibilities include analyzing industry trends, creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and working closely with cross-functional teams to align business goals with client needs. This role is intended to be structured as an independent contractor engagement, not employment. There is no fixed retainer or fixed cash compensation at this stage. Resposabilities • Identify and approach drilling operators and relevant decision-makers. • Generate pilot opportunities (typically 4–6 week shadow-mode deployments). • Support the conversion of pilots into paid commercial contracts. • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations. • Provide market feedback to refine positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategy. Qualifications • Strong knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including drilling operations, risk management, and emerging trends • Proven experience in business development, strategic planning, and client relationship management • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills • Ability to analyze data and industry insights to identify opportunities and strategies for growth • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus • Experience with AI or technology-driven solutions in the oil and gas sector is advantageous.
